‘The Gustav Ladies Mosaic Mural’ is composed of 16 panels based on the paintings of Gustav Klimt using mosaic and mixed media. It was made by the highly skilled Paphos Tessellation group lead by Anne Bateman and including Val Wagstaffe Marieanne Wash / Jennie Clarke / Pat Haughy / Lisa Briggs- Constantinou and Heather Panglander.
Gustav Klimt (1862 –1918) was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Wiener Sezession, a group of like-minded artists in Vienna Austria, which was a product of the Art Nouveau/Jugendstil movement. His oeuvre includes paintings, murals, sketches, and other art objects. Klimt’s primary subject was the female body.
