Centennial Production for Theatro Ena

Premiere: 16th December

The artistic director of Theatro Ena, Andreas Christodoulides, is directing the centennial production of the beautiful theatre venue by Famagusta Gate, established in 1987. Antigone by Sophocles opens on the 16th of December and it is a very rare spectacle to see ancient drama indoors in Cyprus.

In this Sophoclean masterpiece all-human issues arise such as the clash between unity and totality and the bipolar antithesis between nature and human civilization.

Margarita Zachariou is in the title role and Manolis Michaelides is King Creon. With Sotiris Mestanas, Erica Begeti, Nicholas Kouroumtzis, Maria Philippou, Constantinos Alkiviades and Varvara Larmou. Set and costumes designed by Maria Hadjikleanthous. Music originally composed by Demetris Zachariou.

Performances every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8.30 pm.

Bookings: 2234 8203. Tickets €15 & €10.
